Local amputee given priceless opportunity
Projects with Purpose (PWP) has a lift off, with the start of the Engen Refinery Tankage Maintenance, it has given opportunity to uplift the less fortunate from Wentworth. Mr. Lyle Smith is an amputee from Wentworth who has been challenged in finding employment due to a lack of experience. DSES and the Favour Foundation has reached out to assist Mr. Smith by recruiting him to the training programme to learn office skills and document control. Part of his training included in-depth knowledge and understanding of ISO9001/2008 Ed.4 Quality Management System and OHS ACT and Construction Regulations Safety Management Training. Control of records, filing, drawing control, logistics controls, telephonic skills and client service excellence training. Mr Smith is now ready for the working world fully equipped to ace any interview. Mission accomplished. DSES is on the search for another potential candidate to empower. For every project….there is a purpose.
